The Pakistan blind cricket team was issued visas yesterday by the Indian High Commission for participating in the T20 Blind Cricket World Cup in India, Pakistan Blind Cricket Council (PBCC) officials confirmed.
The team took on to Facebook this morning to share the news.
They will be leaving for India on January 28 to participate in the World Cup. The matches will be held in New Delhi and Bangalore from January 30 to February 12 and the team will leave through the Wagah border. The Pak team will play their first match against New Zealand in Delhi on January 30.
PBCC Chairman Syed Sultan Shah was quoted by The Express Tribune saying, "The IHC issued the visas on Wednesday, which is great news. We have received the visas of the team who are now waiting for the No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Interior Minister."
The NOC will be received in a day and the team will leave for India on Saturday. "It is a really good sign for the revival of sporting activities between the two countries. We are hopeful of performing well in the tournament," he was quoted.
Teams from Bangladesh, Australia, England, Nepal, New Zealand, South Africa, Sri Lanka, West Indies will take part in the tournament apart from India and Pakistan.
