Pakistan’s Youth Start Global Movement to Drive Change

DUBAI — The Pakistani youth has kickstarted a global youth movement to
mark the renewal of their commitment to the progress of the country, the foundation of which was laid 70 years ago.

The movement will culminate tomorrow in Lahore. On March 23, 1940, the Pakistan Resolution — the idea on which the creation of Pakistan was based — was passed in Lahore. As envisioned by Allama Mohammed Iqbal and conceived by Quaid-e-Azam, Pakistan was established on August 14, 1947.

Pakistani youth from the UAE are also taking part in the movement that will pass another resolution known as Takmeel-e-Pakistan (completion of the idea) at the same place where it happened 70 years ago – the Minar-e-Pakistan in Lahore.

The<http://www.takmeel.k/>www.takmeel.pk website that has been set up to provide more information on the movement. The project is part of awareness programmes run by Pakistani media known as ‘Wake up Pakistan’.

Pakistani Students Associations from a number of local universities including the American University in Dubai, University of Wollongong, Preston, and the American University in Sharjah have signed the Takmeel banner which will represent the UAE in Lahore.

Mobisher Rabbani who is representing the youth from the UAE, US and Canada says, “Our mission is to revive Iqbal’s ideology amongst the people of Pakistan.”
