Philippine consulate, embassy websites down in UAE

Dubai - 117 government websites down due to hardware failure.

The Embassy of the Philippines in Abu Dhabi and the Philippine Consulate General in Dubai's websites are currently down after a server malfunction.
According to CNN Philippines, the Department of Information and Communications Technology said that there are 177 websites that are affected by the malfunction. They also clarified that the websites have not been hacked. In a statement posted on Facebook, the department said that one of the Government Web Hosting Service storage systems suffered a hardware failure. DICT added that the affected websites will be back up after maintenance work.

The Philippine Consulate in Dubai issued a similar announcement. The consulate said that those looking to apply for a passport appointment must do so using a link provided in the statement.

On Tuesday, the Consulate announced that Filipino expats who are inquring about the availability of their passports must send an email with their full name to epassportpcgdubai.@pcgdubai.ae

The Philippine Embassy in Abu Dhabi has also made similar announcements.
