Central to the campaign is Pink Caravan’s ‘Turn UAE Pink Map’, which participating companies will purchase from Pink Caravan and prominently display in their office, for the duration of Breast Cancer Awareness Month and beyond.

Each map has space for 400 pink ribbon magnets that will be available for a donation of AED 50 a magnet, with all funds raised going towards Pink Caravan’s goal of acquiring a mobile 3D mammogram unit. Through these maps, Pink Caravan aims to not only raise much-needed funds, but also to actively remind individuals of the importance of check-ups, and to encourage those who are in need of follow-up examinations, to return.

Speaking about the ‘Turn the UAE Pink’ campaign, Ameera Bin Karam, President and Founding Member of Friends of Cancer Patients, said, ‘As well as offering free check-ups, hosting a Pink Caravan Wellness Day provides business entities the opportunity to add significant value to their CSR presence. The companies who take part are not only contributing to the cause financially, but are also giving voice to the vitally important role of early detection, in turning the tide against breast cancer. It is for this reason that we have chosen the ‘Turn UAE Pink Map’ as a visual inspiration for all to add their voices to spreading the message of awareness; a message that we encourage people to continue on carrying with us well beyond just the month of October.’

A number of the UAE’s most prominent corporations are hosting Wellness Days, including Coca-Cola; National Bank of Abu Dhabi; Wild Wadi; Price Waterhouse Coopers; Noor Islamic Bank; Dreamland Aqua Park; Commercial Bank of Dubai; HSBC; Jebel Ali Free Zone; Etisalat; Anantara Hotels; Ajman Municipality; Grand Stores.

Pink Caravan is an initiative of Friends of Cancer Patients (FoCP) - a charitable, volunteer-based foundation, aiming to help spread awareness about and fight cancer. Their aim is to increase awareness of breast cancer, encourage regular examination, and raise funds to buy 3D mammogram clinic, which will provide free tests for citizens and expatriates in the UAE.
