Summer is literally looming high above our heads in recent days. Many of us are again returning to the habit of complaining about the weather as we try to freshen up. For many Dubai residents, freshening up almost always entails having to be close to an air-conditioning unit. The AC has become part and parcel of modern Dubai life. That's why it's not strange to see crowded malls during the weekends as many take a stroll around - shop even.
But if you want to avoid the crowd, read on.
Apart from malls, you can always cool down in other locations around Dubai. Here are some examples.
IMG Worlds
Theme parks and summers don't sound really good together, but IMG Worlds is different. One of the two indoor theme parks around Dubai, the park offers a lot of rides inspired by icons in pop culture such as Cartoon Network and Marvel. Oh, they're also expanding into the upcoming Worlds of Legends. But even before that, you can still enjoy the cool breeze as your thrill yourself.
Aquaventure, Atlantis
Situated right in the middle of one of Dubai's iconic landmarks, Aquaventure gives visitors the golden opportunity to not only enjoy the waters; they also offer a close encounter with dolphins.
Office buildings
Despite your office being cool, we're not encouraging you to 'camp' inside. There are certain office buildings you can visit for the cafes and restaurants they have on the ground level. You can visit a restaurant if you feel like it, or have a cup of coffee if you so fancy.
Wild Wadi
Wild Wadi is a waterpark that takes the word "crazy" and expounds on it. If you see it from across the street, you'll be treated to views of twisting slides everywhere. That being said, if you're looking for something that will get your adrenalin going, then this is the place.
Indoors (!)
Let's face it, summer compels us to go indoors and seek the comforts of air conditioning. If you're looking for a practical way to get through summer, just huddle up on the sofa, watch a good TV show, and cosy up in your blanket. Just don't forget to get your AC maintained!
