Meanwhile, the Dubai Municipality has completed its preparations for Eid Al Fitr and the operation rooms will work during the holidays to meet the public influx in parks, resorts and markets. The working hours of the emirate's abattoirs will be from 7am to 2pm with team of butchers and veterinarians ready for emergencies. All the markets will be open throughout Eid, except for Naif Souq, Souq Al Shaabi and the Falcon Center, which will be closed for the first day of Eid.
The doors of public parks will be open from 8am until 12 midnight and entry will be free for 'people of determination' and the elderly aged above 60 years. Dubai Children's City has prepared special programmes for children for three days starting from the second day of Eid, which include Tarzan, Peter Pan and Math Alive shows.
With Eid coinciding with schools across the UAE closing for the summer, Dubai Airports is anticipating heightened traffic during the week with over 1.9 million passengers expected to pass through Dubai International Airport. They have readied extra staff and prepared a wide array of activities, promotions and entertainment options as it prepares for the Eid holiday rush.
The busiest day for departures was Friday, June 23 with over 76,000 departing passengers, while June 30 will be the busiest day for total traffic (departing, arriving and connecting) with over 262,000 customers.
