Poetry on water unveiled with the launch of 'Water Homes'

DUBAI - The newest addition to the Palm, Jebel Ali, is a poetic verse composed by General Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and UAE Minister of Defence, which translates to "It takes a man of vision to write on water; Great men rise to great challenges".

The poem will be created by the island's exclusive four-bedroom water homes and can be fully read when viewed from above. This development reflects the uniqueness of the Palm Jebel Ali and has assisted in enhancing Dubai's image worldwide.

According to Nakheel, these executive waterfront residences are the second phase in the development of the Water Homes project and are in response to extraordinary demand of investors from the launch of the first phase at he Arabian Travel Market (ATM) 2003.

In addition, the verse from the initial phase of homes compliments the newly revealed poem and translates to "Take wisdom from the wise people: Not everyone who rides a horse is a jockey".

Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem, Chairman of Nakheel, said: "Nakheel has made available many new Water Homes, launched at this year's ATM, which will undoubtedly add to the Palm, Jebel Ali's appeal for investors interested in the homes for residential or vacation purposes".

"Since the first phase of Water Homes were so popular when unveiled last year, Nakheel wants to ensure that more investors can take part in this ground-breaking concept of a home that contributes to a poem on water," Mr Bin Sulayem explained. The four bedroom Water Homes will have a beautiful timber finishing and a ground terrace, which surrounds the Water Homes from all sides that will provide extraordinary views. There will be stunning views from the large windows in each house.

The exterior of the house will have a tropical feel with "palm tree like" material on the roof and timber for the remainder of the home.

Along with the two phases of Water Homes, the Palm, Jebel Ali has approximately six marinas, which will be able to berth more than 1,000 boats and yachts.

A cruise liner will also be developed and is planned to be placed at the marina in the middle of the Crescent where an opening is wide enough to permit large cruise ships to pass.
