Colonel Hamad Adeel Al Shamsi, Director of Traffic and Patrols Department in Abu Dhabi, said the move was aimed at providing advanced services to the public.

In the case of minor accidents, a private company would be chosen to handle the procedures like paper work for insurance claims under the supervision of the Traffic Department. This would also make it easier for people involved in such accidents who can complete the procedures fast.

The project would be implemented in phases. In the first phase, it would be tried in Abu Dhabi city and extended to other parts of the emirate in the second phase.
