Prizes worth Dh5 million will be given in raffle draws on Sept. 1

DUBAI — September 1 will be a crucial day for holders of coupons and raffle tickets as prizes worth over Dh5 million would be given away to raffle winners at Modhesh Fun City.

Raffle draws have been one among the major highlights of the Dubai Summer Surprises (DSS). The final draws would be held from 7pm onwards and also be telecast live in a special programme on Sama Dubai TV. The names of the winners will be declared before a big gathering.

Ibrahim Saleh, the COO of the Dubai Summer Surprises, said that the prizes are huge and everyone is invited. “It is not everyday that one witnesses a change in a person’s life in a matter of minutes. The mega raffle draws will end this year’s edition of DSS in style,” he said.

Among the raffle draws to be held on the final day of DSS are the Dubai Shopping Malls Group (DSMG) promotion, Dubai Gold and Jewellery Group promotion, Emarat Petroleum promotion and the Grand Dubai Summer Surprises Raffle. Saleh added that one can be a part of the DSMG promotion running at various participating shopping malls in the city by shopping for over Dh200 for which a raffle coupon will be given. These coupons will enter the final draw, the grand prize for which is a two-bedroom apartment in Lakeside Residence, courtesy Al Manal Development besides a chance to win Dh50,000 in daily draws. For Mastercard users, the chance of winning is even more as they are awarded an additional coupon for every Dh 200 spent.

The Dubai Gold and Jewellery Group (DGJG) promotion has given away weekly prizes of gold, solitaire diamonds, jewellery, BMW 3 series cars, travel tickets and Plasma TV’s. For every Dh250 spent, customers increase their chances of winning Emirates airline tickets, Mont Blanc gift sets, 12 months Carrefour shopping vouchers, Sony Bravia LCD TV, Guy Laroche watches and Saks Fifth Avenue gift vouchers weekly. Besides all this, there are instant scratch and win coupons and the scratch and win offer for shoppers spending a maximum amount of Dh2,500 where they stand a chance of winning half their money back. Here too the Mastercard holders get an extra coupon for their Dh250 purchase through the credit card. The mega final of this promotion will give away a luxury apartment in Dubai International City to one lucky winner on the last day of DSS.

Emarat Petroleum offered a chance to win a Peugeot car every week for the first three weeks of DSS on spending Dh25 at any Emarat outlet. The promotion that runs throughout DSS now continues with a cash prize of Dh25,000 every week for the same amount spent and a chance to enter the run for the grand prize which will give away a fully furnished apartment with Dh100,000 in cash and a Peugeot 206 cc convertible car.

Last, the Grand DSS Raffle gives prizes worth over Dh400,000 plus including a 2006 BMW X5 4.8is and Dh100,000 cash.

The 10-week long DSS, which opened on June 21, celebrated the Arts Surprises Week, Food Surprises, Adventure Surprises, Cartoon Surprises, Nature Surprises, Knowledge Surprises, Flower Surprises and Heritage Surprises and concludes with the ongoing Back-2-School Surprises on September 1.
