The incident showed that reckless driving by one person could lead to death and bereavement to the self and others. The accident in question occurred only because of the carelessness of the truck driver.

In response to the reactions from the public over such accidents, General Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and UAE Defence Minister, who is also Head of Dubai Police and Public Security, ordered the cancellation of driving licences of heavy truck drivers, who jumped the red light.
