Ras Al Khaimah - To grant pardoned prisoners a new lease of life, and ease the suffering of their families.

On the occasion of The Holy Month of Ramadan and in the spirit of the Year of Zayed, His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah (RAK), has ordered the release of 302 prisoners from the punitive and reformative institutions, who were convicted by RAK Courts with definitive sentences.
The generous gesture is part of the Ruler's keenness to grant pardoned prisoners a new lease of life, and ease the suffering of their families.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Crown Prince of Ras Al Khaimah and Chairman of the RAK Judicial Council, instructed the initiation of the required procedures to execute the order issued by the Ruler, and release the pardoned prisoners in collaboration with the RAK Police General Headquarters before the beginning of the holy month.
Hassan Saeed Mohaimed, Attorney-General of RAK, said that the gesture illustrates Sheikh Saud's compassion and keeness to grant the pardoned prisoners an opportunity for social integration, and bring joy and happiness to their families in Ramadan.
The Attorney-General expressed his deepest gratitude to Sheikh Saud for the order that will bring happiness to the families waiting to meet their beloved members. Mohaimed also thanked the Crown Prince of Ras Al Khaimah and Chairman of the RAK Judicial Council for his constant and continuous follow up for Public Prosecution and Judiciary in RAK.
