The Ramadan crescent has been sighted in Saudi Arabia amid cloudy weather.
Officials and residents in Saudi Arabia have gathered in the Qassim region to sight the Ramadan 1440 crescent on Sunday evening.

The Astronomical Observatory in Al Bakiriya Governorate is preparing to sight the crescent of the holy month. The observatory is providing its services and equipment to governmental bodies and individuals interested in spotting the moon tonight.

The meeting has been convened by His Royal Highness Dr Faisal bin Mishal bin Saud, Governor of Qassim region.
Earlier on Saturday, the moon was not sighted in Saudi Arabia, hence first day of Ramadan is likely to fall on May 6.
