SHARJAH — In a bid to provide more comfort to commuters in the holy month of Ramadan, Sharjah Transport has installed 10 big water spray fans at its main bus station at Al Jubail.
Abdulaziz Al Jarouan, head of Procurement and Administrative Services Section at Sharjah Transport, said the move, which is in response to the public’s demand, is aimed to provide a more convenient service, particularly in the holy month of Ramadan. He added that the gesture was hailed by the passengers.
“Six more water spray fans will be installed by the end of this week to ease passengers’ suffering under the sweltering temperatures and high level of humidity. Six of the fans are installed at the station in Sharjah Transport lane while two others are installed at Bur Dubai lane, and two at Deira lane,” Jarouan said.
Intercity Transport Manager Adel Khalil said Sharjah Transport is open to the public’s suggestions which could be submitted to the toll free number 700067000.
Besides this, cold water and drinks dispensers have also been installed at Jubail Bus Station to ease people’s sufferings.
“Passengers need not wait at the station after collecting the ticket. They can directly get on the buses which are open even before the trip starts, to avoid heat exhaustion,” Khalil said.
