It was carnival atmosphere at the Al Ghazal Golf Club as the Indian community was treated to some rollicking stuff by Bollywood music director-singer Pritam Chakraborty on Friday night.
Pritam & Co took the crowd in his fold when he started the event with Tu hi meri shab hai from the movie Gangster. "This is my first visit to Abu Dhabi. I am very happy to be performing here," Pritam told the audience.
Pritam even slipped into Bengali mode. Soon, playback singer Abhijeet Sawant joined and added to the festive flavour. Antra Mitra was introduced with the 'Kabira song' Kaisi teri khudgarzi from the movie Yeh Jawaani He Deewani.
Afghan Jalebi from movie Phantom had crowds rushing to the front aisle. Singers Nakash Aziz and Aditi Singh Sharma churned out some engaging and entertaining numbers.
There wasn't a minute rest and when Pritam sought a two-minute break that too was declined.
The best part of the evening was the gala dinner before the concert. The feast ensured people were full of beans for the concert. And the show starting an hour late gave enough time for food to digest.
Badtameez dil from Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani and the 'Breakup song' from movie Ae Dil Hai Mushkil had the audience let their hair down.
There was a medley of some 10 songs from best of Pritam's playlist.
The festive atmosphere saw a mix of bachelors, families, young and old in attendance.
The event, hosted by the Abu Dhabi Chapter of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, saw officials from the Indian Embassy and representation from almost all Indian associations from the Capital.
Pritam ended the show with Balam pichkari and he promised to be back soon.
