DUBAI — The Reservation and Distribution Section of the Dubai Taxi Agency has handled 308,000 telephone calls at a rate of more than 10,266 calls a day during September alone, according to statistics revealed by Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) yesterday.
It was also revealed that the total number of reservations made was in excess of 256,000 while the average response to calls was 29 seconds. The average time of arrival of the car to the customer was 14 minutes, while the total number of reservations made through Interactive Voice Response (IVR) during the same month was over 81,000 reservations.
Abdul Aziz Malik, CEO of Dubai Taxi Agency, confirmed that the agency currently had 2,029 cars operating 24 hours and driven by two drivers per vehicle. In May this year, 271 new cars were added to replace the old vehicles while 270 cars more cars replaced old vehicles in September this year. “The agency is working during the current year to have 1,000 cars operating for 12 hours, and driven by two drivers,” he added.
