The first one, called C1, links Zaabeel Park area with Dubai International Airport (Terminal 2), and the other one, called X25, links Dubai Marina with the new headquarters of Public Transport Agency.

The Agency is currently mulling allowing passengers to use all bus doors to embark and disembark. Currently, passengers can embark only from the front door and disembark only from the rear door. The idea is to expedite bus movement and cut short the bus trip time.

Mohammed Obaid Al Mulla, CEO of the Public Transport Agency said the launch of the two routes reflected the keen attention of the Agency to ensure smooth flow of traffic.

"By launching these two routes, the Agency aims to cover the Central Business Districts (CBD) where a large number of local and global businesses and establishments are located. These companies employ a large number of people and are visited by a steady stream of people daily.

Al Mulla said the buses, which will be operated on the Route C1, will move from Zabeel Park across the World Trade Centre at Shaikh Zayed Road, then pass through Naturalisation and Residency Department, BurJuman Center, Bur Dubai, Dubai Creek, Salah Uddin Road, the General HQ of Dubai Police, and from there up to Dubai International Airport (Terminal 2) and vice versa.

Trips will be operated at 10 minutes intervals. Daily trips will start at 5am and continue till 12 midnight.

As to the second line, Express (X25), buses will kick off from Dubai Marina residential area, and pass through Dubai Internet City, Knowledge Village, Jumeirah Road, Al Ghubaiba bus station, Naif Road, Salah Uddin Road, and Damascus Road till reaching the new HQ of Public Transport Agency.

To cut short trip time, buses will stop only at key stops.

Al Mulla said that in addition to these lines, articulated buses will also be deployed in these two lines to accommodate larger number of commuters.
