RTA panel for Australia to study marine projects

DUBAI — A delegation from the marine agency in the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has left for Australia on a 12-day trip to study the upcoming marine projects there.

The delegation is headed by Engineer Essa Al Dossari, Chief Executive Officer of Marine Agency. The other members of the team include Engineer Khalid Al Zahid, Director of Sea Transport Department, Ahmed Al Hammadi, Director of In-Land Water Transport, and Engineer Anas Abdul Jabbar, Communication and Liaison Engineer.

The visit is aimed at a comprehensive study conducted by the Marine Agency in Dubai on technical specifications of the boats to be purchased and their suppliers, and the development of alternative architectural designs of the stations.

Other studies to be done during the trip include the rehabilitation of specialised operators, preparations of the required legislations and regulations, identification of the organisational structures similar to those of Marine Agency, and identification of the regulations and standards of maritime navigation and safety.

Engineer Essa Al Dossari, said that the visit includes the studies of the four best cities in the world that have expertise in maritime transport including Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and Perth. The studies are designed to verify the validity of the decision to use composite catamaran.
