Present on the occasion were Mattar Mohammed Ahmed Al Tayer, Director, Dubai Roads and Transport Authority; Brigadier Mohammed Saif Al Zafin, Director of General Department of Traffic; and Saif Belhasa, Chairman of Belhasa Group.

Hundreds of BDC staff and fans waited for about 90 minutes under the sun to catch a glimpse of the famous actor.

The new BDC complex is a full service centre spread over an area of 600,000 square feet and includes the Wasel Vehicle Testing Centre developed at a cost of Dh17 million. The complex is set to open in a month.

Meanwhile, speaking at a Press conference during the inauguration, Saif Belhasa said: "Our new facility has been conceived to offer a comprehensive range of services to trainees and other driving licence aspirants in Dubai. The centre is the fruition of our strategic vision to provide customer-centric services. The Wasel Vehicle Testing Centre is an example of the break-out of services that we are offering to our customers. With our full-fledged new complex, BDC is reiterating our commitment to impart the highest quality of instruction to the learners."

Commenting on BDC's new facility, Mattar Mohammed Ahmed Al Tayer, Director, Dubai Roads and Transport Authority, said: "In keeping with the ongoing trends of road usage in Dubai, the demand for qualified driving schools certified to international standards has touched an all-time high. Dubai Roads and Transport Authority attaches great importance to the quality of the driver, their driving discipline and demeanour, which can only be imparted through intensive and individually tailored training, the likes of which is offered by Belhasa Driving Centre.

He said that the Authority extends appreciation to Belhasa Driving Centre for opening this new centre, which will create new benchmarks for safe and responsible driving on UAE roads.
