Saqr Ghobash happy with UAE’s national cadres

He praised the vision of the country’s wise leadership which emphasises the value of workers and the importance of maintaining their rights.

Ghobash said he was happy with the efficiency of the UAE’s national cadres within the labour market, filling in many professions, especially those that require advanced skill levels. He was speaking at a special Labour Day ceremony held annually on May 1.

The winners

Aviation: Captain Khalid el-Ghazal, Captain Ahmad Badr bin Huwaidi and Captain Khalid Abdulkarim Ibrahim

Law: Tariq Saeed Al Shamsi, Yousif Khalifa bin Omair and Nawal Mohammed Saif Al Badi.

Medicine: Dr. Saeed Al Sheikh, Dr. Waleed Al Shehhi, Dr Anwar Al Hammadi, Dr. Saeed Ali Al-Thani and Dr. Abu Bakr Al Madani.

Engineering: Yousef Abdullatif Muhaideb, Hassan Obeid Hantoush, Samir Mahmoud Al Najjar and Rawda Abdullah Mohammed Al Awadi.

National projects representatives: Abdulrahman Salem Al Tunaiji; Salah Al Junaibi; Salim Ali Al Neci; Adel Shaheen; Abdulla Al Mansouri; Mohammed Abdul Rahim Al Ahmad; Shaima Fawaz; Lamis Hamdan; Najla Al Shehhi and Nayla Al Khaja.

Special needs citizens: Saif Saeed Saif Al Deeb, Salah Issa Al Qassab and Ahmed Abdallah Jumaa Faraj

The event was organised by the Ministry of Labour and held in the presence of Major-General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, Director of General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai; Younis Khouri, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Finance; Humaid bin Dimas Al Suwaidi, Assistant Undersecretary for Labour Affairs and a number of representatives of government agencies, employers and workers.

Ghobash honoured 30 UAE nationals working in the private sector, a number of citizens with special needs and a number of entrepreneurs.

Dr. Anwar Al Hammadi, Consultant Dermatologist and Cosmetic Surgeon, one of the winners, said the efforts of the Ministry of Labour and its quest to achieve a stable labour market, a productive workforce and a competitive knowledge-oriented economy revolves around national cadres.

“The ceremony organised by the Ministry of Labour today confirms that everyone, no matter which profession they practice, are all positively contributing in the process of building a sustainable labour market and in the construction of this beloved country under the wise leadership,” he added.

The list of honourees included Azza Al Qubaisi as UAE’s business leading women who has proved her worthiness in the private sector.

The Minister also honoured school students for participating in the ‘Labour-Themed’ drawing and photography contests organised by the Ministry of Labour in cooperation with the Knowledge and Human Development Authority under this year’s Labour Day slogan “Labourers Pulse Our Businesses”, which received an overwhelming response from school students.
