B-Lounge at Sheraton Abu Dhabi Hotel and Resort is kicking off the year with now its traditional monthly Open Mic Night! This Saturday, Abu Dhabi’s undiscovered talent is taking to the stage for some cool, groovy, rocky, even electrifying performances. Blue lights flowing from palm trees, Arabic traditional seating’s in the open air Roman style amphitheatre and sinking bean cushions aside, the singing tonight promises to be quite good and as fun as ever. There will be The Gardeners with folk, rock and blues tunes, Aditya Menon with some old favourite songs, plus some original ones, 401 False Alarm with Ska Reggae and a little bit of funk, Larry Lang and his acoustic guitar performing some old and original melodies, WC will be doing some rapping, Dreaming Puppets will follow with acoustic alternate rock and Yazan and Ibrahim are back with some Arabic instrumental tunes. Entry is free, the food is finger licking and the weather is fine!

For a quieter evening, or just a prelude to a night out, head to Monte Carlo Beach Club which is now having the Immaculate Sunsets every Saturday. Glorious sunsets by the beach, fancy cocktails and dancing music just can’t be beaten! Immaculate Sunsets, happening at the Club’s outdoors Sea Lounge, will feature DJs Chad Phunk, Stew Magoo, Natalie Brogan and Adam L on saxophone. Doors open at 4 pm and ladies will receive free selected beverages during 5-6pm.

WHAT’S COOKING
AT HOLIDAY INN

Holiday Inn in Abu Dhabi is hitting up the grill this January, starting the month — and the year — with Stake Frites. From January 3, the hotel’s Lemon Tree restaurant is introducing Stake Away promotion every Thursday. Enjoy a three-course meal with your choice of steak — Rump steak at Dh80, Sirloin at Dh90, Rib Eye at Dh100 or Tenderloin at Dh110. All steaks are served with a glass of red or a brew.

Every Sunday from January 6, Holiday Inn’s Silk Route restaurant is preparing some Tandoori Nights. Unleashed will be an array of gravies and grills, all cooked with the finest Indian spices and the freshest of meats and veggies. Tandoori menus are priced at Dh120 per person.

Also at Silk Route, and also for Dh120, there are other Asian cuisines served up every Tuesday night in the Taste of Asia January promotion.

The Thirty 1st Bar and Lounge will give Thursdays a new spin from January. Bring in the weekends with DJ M’Raz, who spins a mix of the West fused with Arabic and Indian beats. Cocktails every Thursday start from Dh30.

At Hubbly Bubbly is back to grills! Again every Thursday of this month, you may enjoy here live cooking and juicy grills, as well as your choice of shisha for Dh35!
