Abeer bint Atallah Al Anzy, a Saudi nurse who lives in Al Qassim, made a significant humanitarian donation by donating a part of her liver to save a child's life.
Abeer donated a part of her liver to the child through the Saudi Charitable Asociation for Liver Patients (Kabidak). Speaking to the group's leader, Abdul Aziz bin Ali Al-Humaid, she expressed her wish to donate a portion of her liver.
She said that it will take 3 months for the donor to recover. She also stressed the need to spread the culture of donating.
Al-Humaid commended Abeer's gesture and said that it is very noble and something that makes all Saudi nationals proud.
Apart from donating a part of her liver, she also donated some of her jewellery to the association.
