AL AIN — The UAE University and Dubai Police yesterday reviewed their joint scholarship programme that is available to local high school graduates.

The meeting was attended by Dr Ali Rashed Al Nuaimi, Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Academic Affairs of the university, and Colonel Tarish Al Mansouri, Director of General Administration in Dubai Police.

Dr Abdulrahman Al Shayeb, Director of the Scholarships Fund, said the fund annually distributed several scholarships to local high school graduates and those currently enrolled in the University General Requirements Unit.

“The scholarships are competitive,” said Dr Al Shayeb.

Some local companies and organisations provide scholarships to local students admitted to the UAE University to learn pursue courses in the line of the companies’ activities.

Colonel Tarish Al Mansouri commended the university’s role in supplying organisations in the UAE with skilled work force. He said Dubai Police always wanted to fund raising cadres that support the administration by their qualifications, knowledge and awareness. The scholarships encourage outstanding high school graduates to follow their undergraduate studies at the UAE University.
