Authorities have also told the schools that classrooms in primary and preparatory stages should not have more than 25 and 30 students.
“Other facilities should not be turned into classrooms as some schools were found to have converted the teachers’ rooms into classrooms,” Fawziyya Hassan, Director of the Sharjah Education Zone, said.
She called up on schools to maintain their campuses, provide airconditioners in classrooms, keep the toilets and all other facilities clean and adhere to the standards and conditions of security, safety and other health services.
The warning came following a barrage of complaints filed by parents that their children’s schools did not provide transport services and school uniforms under the pretext that the uniform was not a mandatory term set by the Ministry of Education. She said the school uniform, transport and textbooks are among the basic services schools should provide to students.
