The SIF will also award 47 students who scored over 80 per cent marks in a contest conducted by SIF-UAE.

The main objective of SIF-UAE is to encourage young students to opt for science and technology as their career and introduce them to the rich scientific heritage of India.

The SIF programme inspires young generation to take science and develop a keen interest among them for the science and technology.

This was announced at a Press conference held at Foodland in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday by T.M. Nanda Kumar, honorary president of SIF. SIF will host an award ceremony, “Science India Gala 2007”, to honour students, at 4pm at Al Jaheli Theatre of the Armed Forces Officers Club, Mussafah, Abu Dhabi, on November 2.

In May, 2007, SIF-UAE, in association with National Science Movement-India, Indian Embassy in Abu Dhabi and IDEA Abu Dhabi conducted ‘Sastra Pratibha’, a talent search contest, at 26 Indian schools across the UAE. This was conducted in UAE for the first time.
