His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, will attend the second Arab Social Media Influencers Summit (ASMIS) which opens in Dubai today.
The summit is expected to attract more than 2,500 social medial influencers and prominent social media figures from the region and around the world.
About 54 speakers will share their experiences and highlight success stories of positive use of social media over the two-days of the second edition of the summit.
This year's edition includes various styles of sessions, one of which is 'Dardachat', which are 15 minutes sessions hosting prominent Arab and international social media influencers. The speakers lineup at the event include Sheikh Majid Al Sabbah, known for his informative and interactive presence on Snapchat; Dr Travis Stork, celebrity and host of the international TV show The Doctors; Ola Al Fares, one of the active social media influencers in the humanitarian field and Hussain Al Jassmi, popular Emirati singer.
In an unusual session, Simon Pierro, internationally famous magician and TV presenter, best known as the "iPad magician" will perform tricks using the iPad at the summit. The first day of the summit will also honour winners of ASMIS Award.
