Shaikha Fatima sends message to Egyptian First Lady

ABU DHABI - Her Highness Shaikha Fatima bint Mubarak, the President's Wife and Chairperson of the UAE Women's Association, has expressed her support for global efforts to form an international women's organisation, which will be known as ‘International Women's Movement for Global Peace' or IWMGP.

In a letter she sent yesterday to the Egyptian First Lady, Suzanne Mubarak, Shaikha Fatima said she would spare no effort to garner the energy of women to build strong partnership with women's organisations in various parts of the world to achieve global peace.

She reiterated her commitment to work hard to boost the role of the IWMGP to enable it to function effectively in achieving its noble objectives, which include the spreading of the culture of peace, renunciation of conflicts and wars and the provision of humane, peaceful and stable life for humanity at large.

"The increasing violence, armed conflicts and destructive wars raging today in various parts of the world, particularly in our region, coupled with the rapid regional and international developments, which warn of dangers ahead, are all strong evidences on the need to expedite the formation of such an important women's organisation, to enable it play an effective role in the spreading of social security and justice so as to achieve global peace, based on justice and international law," the letter said.
