The Sharjah Roads and Transport Authority on Wednesday, June 22, announced a new route between the emirates of Sharjah and Dubai.
Route 313 will connect the Rolla bus station in Sharjah with the Dubai International Airport, Terminal 2.
Khalid Al Khayal, manager of intercity transport department, RTA Sharjah, said the new route, passing through the Nahda road, has seven stops, starting with the Jubail bus station.
Buses will ply on the new route from 6 am to 1 am.
A single trip from the Jubail bus station in Sharjah to the Dubai International Airport, Terminal 2 on the new route costs Dh15, whereas intermediate trips stand at Dh10 only.
The other stops include Stadium Metro, Ministry of Media, Nahda, Union Coop, Free Zone, Free Zone at Al Quds road, and finally the Dubai International Airport, Terminal 2.
RTA Sharjah is also developing all the current public bus routes to meet the pressing demand on intercity buses, Al Khayal added. "The central location of Sharjah has turned it into a major assembly point for passengers from all emirates."
The authority spares no effort to provide a convenient and safe shuttle service to all passengers, he pointed out. "All RTA Sharjah buses are spacious and fully equipped for passengers' comfort."
Launching more routes, adding more buses to service, and increasing trips, have helped decrease the frequency period and long queues in a significant way, Al Khayal stated.
"RTA Sharjah, in collaboration with strategic partners, like RTA Dubai, is all set to encourage the public to use public transport instead of their vehicles to curb traffic congestion and pollution."
Urging cooperation, Al Khayal said customers may reach the RTA Sharjah Call Centre for feedbacks, inquiries, remarks and complaints round the clock at (600525252).
