Sharjah park timings changed

Based on public demand, Sharjah Municipality has decided to extend the opening and closing timings of public and residential parks as well as recreation grounds in the emirate.

The new timing, effective from Thursday will be from 8am to 1pm and from 4pm to 10pm. Maintenance work and the cleaning of the parks will be undertaken between 1pm and 3pm.

Sultan Al Mulla, Director-General of Sharjah Municipality, said that this decision is aimed at providing the public with best services. Sharjah municipality has recently made great accomplishments in developing and enhancing parks to allow families to enjoy visiting such parks. The municipality is making efforts now to add new plants for beautification and increase the number of employees to provide best services to visitors.

“More than 57 of Sharjah’s parks have seen many improvements such as offices for park attendants, ladies prayer rooms, cafeterias, toilets etc. These have been carried out in parks of Al Sufaia, Al Mahatta, Al Khaledya, Al Suwaihat, Al Ghafia, Al Faihaa, Al Qadesia, Al Nasreia, Abu Shaghara, Dasman, Semnan, Maisaloun, Al Tarafana, Al Refaía, Al Qaraen, Al Darari, Al Hezam, Al Akhdar, Al Hamria, Al Falaj, Al Ramtha and Al Azra.”

The official said that the parks would also be used as a platform for educational and entertainment events for the public. Sharjah Municipality biggest concern is preserving stability of families and privacy through implementation of the card system to enter parks. He said families can visit parks without being disturbed by strangers and bachelors.
