Sharjah plans to develop Mamzar area

SHARJAH — The Sharjah Municipality is planning to develop the Mamzar area of Sharjah in phases to be one of the best entertainment places in Sharjah.

A top official at the Sharjah Municipality told Khaleej Times that the civic body is studying comprehensive designs and drawings, which include all entertainment requirements to attract public, and has started negotiating the execution of the project with some developers.

The Sharjah Mamzar has several advantages which could be utilised to develop it as an attractive tourist spot. The designs prepared show that the Mamzar area could be developed as Al Buhairah corniche. It will be equipped with benches and lights, and will be planted with lawns, different types of flowers, palm and decoration trees.

The plan was put up based on the recommendations and demand of public who urged the Sharjah government to develop the area. Currently the area lacks any facilities and a few people use the place to dump wastes.
