Dr Amin Hussein Al Amiri, Assistant Undersecretary for Medical Practices and Licences, has said that the ministry has got in touch with the company producing the medicine to take immediate action to meet the shortage.

The ministry came to know that the company has stopped production till October 2011 and, hence, the local agent could not get supplies to cover the needs of the country. Xalatan eye drops are used for the treatment of glaucoma and high eye pressure.
