Abdul Rahman M. Al Shamsi, Director General, Government of Sharjah Financial Control Department, awarded the certificates and requested each participant to translate their learning into action as they do their daily work and meet people in general.

He praised Skyline College for taking the initiative to conduct such training courses for professionals which he believes will help enhance professionalism in the respective offices and local departments.

Kamal Puri, Dean of Skyline College said the training course will be expanded to officials from other emirates. "The objective of this training course was to update the staff, acquaint and rehabilitate them with the best ways and methods for dealing with the customers, in addition to extending their best services and building a positive image with the customers and the public about the government departments."

"The course will be organised free of cost as a gesture from the college to give back in its own little way to the community and contribute towards the development and progress of the country," said Mr Puri. He disclosed that the college plans to conduct at least two such short courses every semester on different topics based on the local job market needs, to help enhance the skills.

The five-day course held between March 27 and 31, was attended by officials from Sharjah Police, Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Sharjah Financial Controller department, Culture and Guidance department, Municipality and Department of Immigration and Naturalisation as well as other government offices.
