Smart power networks and environment-friendly energy sources were just two of the many recommendations made during the second Sharjah International Energy Forum that was held on Wednesday.
The one-day forum was organised by the Sharjah Electricity and Water Authority (Sewa) under the slogan 'Towards a Brighter Future'.
During the forum, the Sewa announced the initiatives it has planned for its Vision 2020, which include smart services and completing connection procedures in one day.
The participants at the forum stressed the importance of spreading awareness and knowledge about renewable energy sources, and laying out effective policies and legislations that will help Sharjah achieve its conservation goals.
Speaking to Khaleej Times on the sidelines of the forum, Dr Rashid Alleem, Chairman of the Sewa, said the forum discussed 13 papers presented by international experts on issues and innovative solutions related to energy management.
