The Dar Al Ber Society, run by the Dubai Government, has distributed packs of a variety of sweets and cookies, locally known as Eid Fawala, to over 50 low-income families, and families of special needs people and inmates.

The Low-Income Families Committee, UAQ, working under the supervision of the society, gifted the packs to the students of these disadvantaged families in collaboration with the UAQ Education Zone.

Ali Hassan Al Assi, chairman of the committee, said they celebrated the contribution at the Ahmed bin Rashid School for Basic Education for Boys.

“Not only were the Fawala packs distributed to the deprived students but also various types of fruits, electronic devices, audio visual educational aids and feast charity clothes.

“We are dedicated to support and bring happiness to low-income families and those of inmates and special needs, and pay them regular visits, particularly during major occasions, holidays and national events.”

The committee members put in all efforts to provide the daily needs of Emirati low-income families in all areas and regions of the country in the form of fixed or monthly aid and urgent relief materials, he noted.

Al Assi thanked Saeed Ali bin Hussain, and Ahmed Al Kharji, acting director-general and education adviser, respectively, of the UAQ Education Zone, who were both present at the function.

The celebration saw the presence of a number of staff social workers and experts at the UAQ Education Zone, and Amira Al Shamsi, deputy chairperson of the Low-Income Families Committee, UAQ. Al Assi gifted a memento to Mariam Saeed Al Ghafli, headmistress of the Ahmed bin Rashid School for Basic Education, in appreciation of her cooperation with the Low-Income Families Committee, UAQ.
