Space museum to be highlight of Al Ain World Aerobatic show

AL AIN — Guests at the Al Ain International Aerobatic Championship, slated for January 26-30, will have the privilege of talking to the crew of the International Space Station. This interaction will be telecast live on major satellite channels.

Another interesting feature of the event is the display of items from the Russian Space Museum.

Some 20,000 exhibits of the Museum will help the guests learn the history of manned space flights in the USSR and Russia, and also the life and times of the first cosmonaut of the world, Yuri Gagarin.

It may be noted that the Space Museum of Yuri Gagarin Cosmonaut Training Centre in Star City, located 25 km east of Moscow, boasts a rare collection of space vehicles, simulators, space suits and outfits of cosmonauts, scientific equipment, documents and personal items, awards, and gifts of the first Soviet cosmonauts.

The museum has exhibits showcasing various stages of manned space flights — the legendary “Vostok” spacecraft, Mir Space Station, and the International Space Station.

The Organising Committee of the aerobatic event has signed a deal with three cosmonauts who have explored space.

The cosmonauts will brief the visitors, especially students, about the Russian Space Museum.
