Prideland, the timeless saga of a true king, was staged by Gems Our Own Indian School, Dubai, recently. It was a delightful evening of music and dance, a never before experience in a world set deep in the heart of Africa. Directed by Joe Peter (Performance Arts Coordinator), this musical was a mega production with more than 200 talented students. Closely resembling a Broadway show, guests were impressed by life-like visuals, spectacular stage settings, brilliant costumes and stunning artistry, all of which were solely created in-house, under the guidance of Ms Sampriti Chawak.
The students did sing along, laugh and cry with the young king through his days of happiness and nights of misfortune, till he takes his rightful place in the circle of life. An opening dance ensemble, choreographed by Shiney Melvin, set the tone for the evening. The medley of dances from around the world were presented by adorable 'danseurs and danseuses'. - suchitra@khaleejtimes.com
