He is also accused of trespassing into his friend’s house and assaulting him. He also allegedly damaged his friend’s bedroom door.

The 19-year-old Emirati student allegedly kissed and hugged the girl who is just 13 as she was asleep in his bedroom.

The mother of the girl had reported her daughter missing after she could not find her in her room or at her friend’s house. She called the defendant’s mobile number but it was switched off. She then sent him a SMS asking him to bring her daughter home. The 13-year-old Emirati girl (student) said in the investigation that she had known the defendant since a year and a half. She had met him through his sister. He also bought her a mobile phone and a SIM card through which they stayed in touch, especially on Fridays.

In the afternoon of July 2 she sneaked out with him.

The two went for a drive in Rashidiya, Nad al Hamar and Al Warqaa and then he took her to his friend’s house in Rashidiya around midnight. As the latter was not at home, the defendant broke open his door. When the friend came back, they both had a fight in which the defendant assaulted him.

The girl said that she saw the defendant pushing the friend to the ground. The defendant then took the girl to his parents’ house.

There, she slept in his bedroom as his parents were asleep. She woke up in the morning the following day and saw the defendant sleeping on the floor. That was when her mother called and asked him to bring her back home.

On seeing police vehicles waiting for them at her house, the two got scared and ran away. However, together they went to the Rashidiya police post when the defendant’s father asked him by phone to do so.

The girl told the police that she did not know whether the defendant touched or kissed her because she was sleeping.

The defendant faced charges of molestation, trespassing, assault and damage of others’ property.
