The Swiss State Bank of Geneva (Banque Cantonale de Genève - BCGE) was founded in 1816 in the city centre of Geneva as a result of the merger between Caisse d'Epargne (Savings Bank) and the Banque hypothécaire (Mortgage Bank).
It has a presence in Geneva, Zurich and Lausanne, and abroad via the Banque Cantonale de Genève (France) SA entity.
It also has representative offices in Hong Kong and Dubai. Its regional clients can benefit locally from a high-quality service of a Swiss banking institution offering the advantages of stability in political, economic and monetary fields. The BCGE offices in Dubai and Hong Kong aim to represent the bank in the UAE and the Asian regions in its main core business activities, which include private banking, asset management, lending to the private and public sectors, financial engineering, corporate finance as well as global commodity finance services.
It also provides BCGE clients with a better access to financial markets in Asia and the UAE.
Since  their  opening, BCGE's representative offices have focused investment on developing their client base across the region, targeting high net worth individuals and financial institutions across their related key markets.
BCGE, as a universal service financial institution, provides diversified and high-quality banking services to private and institutional customers, such as everyday banking facilities, private banking and asset management, real estate financing and mortgages, global trade and commodity finance services, lending to the private and public sectors, financial engineering and corporate finance.

BCGE has a number of distinctive and appealing propositions, namely:
State-owned
Universal bank model
High degree of diversification
Open architecture
Simplicity and transparency
Unparallelled knowledge and expertise on Swiss market

The bank is rated A+/Stable/A-1 by Standard & Poor's. BCGE is listed on the Swiss stock exchange, SIX Swiss Exchange (stock no. 35 049 471). Dimension S.A. is a wholly-owned subsidiary of BCGE specialising in business valuation and transmission, and has a head office in Lausanne and a branch in Geneva. Capital Transmission S.A. is a wholly-owned subsidiary of BCGE whose mission is to assist businesses and investors financially, with equity or quasi-equity. Capital Transmission has an investment capacity that enables it to finance the long-term expansion of mature businesses, to ensure their consolidation or to facilitate their transmission, by acquiring minority shareholdings or through mezzanine financing.
BCGE recorded excellent 2018 results. Operating profit reached CHF 161.3 million, up 25.7 per cent, driven by commercial income and innovation. Net profit also rose sharply to CHF 91.2 million (+11.7 per cent).
BCGE plays a key role in supporting and boosting the regional economy. Today a full-service regional bank, it provides the community with the Canton's densest banking network, with 21 branches, five 24-hour zones and 124 ATMs.
It is the central source of the Bank for individuals and for corporate finance, particularly for SMEs and the Geneva property sector. BCGE also offers private banking services and financial asset management for institutional clients.
The BCGE Group has a clear-cut investment philosophy, which is a choice of concept: the core of efficient and disciplined asset management.
To create the most brilliant portfolio, having a good knowledge is no longer enough. You need leading-edge expertise to discover, identify, analyse, choose and assemble the universe's best stocks.
In order to harness the most brilliant of all financial constellations, the BCGE has defined for its clients its own investment philosophy.
