The Swiss State Bank of Geneva (Banque Cantonale de Genève - BCGE) was founded in 1816 in the city centre of Geneva as a result of the merger between Caisse d'Epargne (Savings Bank) and the Banque hypothécaire (Mortgage Bank). 
It has a presence in Geneva, Zurich and Lausanne, and abroad via the Banque Cantonale de Genève (France) SA entity.
