Tawam launches breast cancer drive

AL AIN — Tawam Hospital in affiliation with Johns Hopkins Medicine International is organising a walkathon at the Al Ain Palm Sports Resort at 9am on October 27 to mark the Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

“A majority of breast cancer patients we are having at the hospital are those in advanced stages. If they could have got it detected earlier, the cancer could have been treated. Early detection or early screening can really save lives,” said Brian de Francesca, chief operating officer of Tawam Hospital-Johns Hopkins Medicine International.

“We are not only organising the walkathon but we are also renovating our Breast Care Centre now,” he added.
