A special month is about to arrive. Gates of Paradise are about to open. Yes the holy month of Ramadan is approaching us yet again with all its blessings and bounties. This ninth month of Islamic calender is observed throughout the world as the month of fasting, one of the five pillars of Islam.
The month also commemorates the revelation of the Holy Quran to Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). Muslims thus spend the entire month reading and understanding the Holy Quran.
While Muslims all over the world gear up for yet again long summer fasts, we at Khaleej Times will give you regular upbeat on Ramadan in the UAE.
Here are a few Dos and Don'ts for the holy month:
Dos
This is the month of resolutions. Promise Allah and kick your bad habits such as smoking, alcohol, gambling or whatever bad habit.
Be patient, control your anger, be humble and more God-fearing.
Cleanse your heart from grudges, make peace with all, forgive and forget.
Spend maximum time doing good deeds, help people and smile more often.
Accept your faults, regret your sins, cry and seek forgiveness.
Don'ts
Do not backbite, conspire or even think ill for anyone.
Do not turn away anyone who comes to you for help.
Do not throw leftover food, give it to the needy instead.
Do not fight, argue, raise your voice or get angry.
Ramadan Kareem to all KT readers.
