Bollywood buffs and theatre enthusiasts may be aware that the popular heroine of 1970s Zeenat Aman has taken up theatre with the play The Graduate which had its successful runs in Mumbai. Now, the musical theatrical adaptation of the Oscar award-winning film of the same name will be staged at Madinat Jumeirah MPV Arena as part of the entertainment activities of the impressive DSF Calendar of Events on January 14, 2005 (Friday).
The Graduate, with its 26 houseful shows in Mumbai, is the largest musical ever done on an Indian stage. It is a visual extravaganza with six sets exclusively made for the play hosting former beauty queen-turned-actress Zeenat Aman, Raageshwari, and Aditya Hitkari in the lead roles.
With a story of love and desire, of dreams and difficult choices, The Graduate is a play that everyone can identify with. It will appeal not only to those who are passionate about good theatre but also to those who haven’t experienced theatre at all.
