Thousands of flags, lights to adorn Abu Dhabi on National Day

The Capital is getting ready to mark the 45th National Day.
As part of the celebrations, the Abu Dhabi City Municipality has started the decoration works in the Capital and suburban areas, with thousands of flags and lighting decorations.
According to the municipality, the decoration works in Abu Dhabi and surrounding areas include installing more than 30,000 flags and installing more than 7,500 geometric shapes heralding the number 45.

The configurations include phrases from the UAE's National Anthem, in addition to other configurations depicting 4,100 patterns of different sizes, 1,100 signs displaying the number 45, and 2,300 lighting devices emulating rain.


Other works also include decorating 14 roundabouts and seven bridges. The light work will be fitted in Abu Dhabi City and suburbs, Al Shahama old and new city, Al Samha old and  new city, Mohammed bin Zayed City, Khalifa City, Shakhbout City, Bani Yas and Al Mafraq.
All materials used in the lighting works are made of safe and weather-resistant materials providing the highest levels of safety and security, the municipality said.

The UAE Flag Day is marked on November 3 and the National Day on December 2 each year. ashwani@khaleejtimes.com
