ABU DHABI — Three persons were injured in an accident involving two launches in the Al Buteen Canal in Abu Dhabi on Sunday.
Major Khalid Saeed Al Shamsi, Head of Marine Police section of Abu Dhabi Police, said rescue teams arrived at the scene of the accident immediately and shifted the injured to Khalifa Hospital.
Major Al Shamsi said the marine police are investigating the incident under the marine navigation law to identify the launch that caused the accident.
He also urged all those using the Al Buteen Canal to remain cautious.
He added that no drowning accidents were recorded during the Eid holidays as intensive marine patrols were in place round the clock to help beach-goers in distress.
