Three more multi-storey parking complex to come up in Sharjah

SHARJAH — The Sharjah Municipality has started work to construct three more multi-storey parking complex in Al Majaz area which, upon completion, will offer 1,819 parking slots.

Abdul Al Rahman Al Mahmoud, Head of the Transport and Freight Section at Sharjah Municipality, said that work on its first parking building of seven stories — offering 880 parking slots — was progressing steadily. This building is being built at a cost of Dh21 million.

Al Mahmoud said the municipality was keen to provide better services to residents and solving the traffic congestion problem in the emirate.

The municipality decided to build these multi-storey parking buildings in Al Majaz area to provide relief to car owners, and will charge only symbolic fees from the users.

The municipality also is planning to execute several multi-storey parking buildings in Abu Shagara area.
