Titles of UAE-based writers to be released at book fair

Books written by P.P Saseendran of Mathrubhumi newspaper, Sadiq Kavil of Malayala Manorama daily, KM Abbas and Manu Rahman of Siraj newspaper, EM Ashraf of Kairlai TV and Shabu Kilithattil of Hit 96.7 FM will be published on different days during the fair that runs till November 15.

Noted Malayalam writer Sethu will release a novel written by Sadiq Kavil at the Book Forum Hall at 4.30pm on Friday. The novel,Out-pass, which tells the story of three decades of insecure immigration, has been published by DC Books.

The same day at the Literary Forum Hall at 5.30pm, Indian politician and author MP Veerendra Kumar will release a book by PP Saseendran. Titled(Under the Date Palm), the collection of essays is based on real-life stories of expatriates in the Gulf countries. Mathrubhumi Books has published the title.

Shabu Kilithattil’sBreaking Newswill be released at 6.30pm at the same hall. Published by Kairali Books, the collection of articles gives an insight into the world of news.

On Sunday, the Literary Forum Hall will see the introduction ofThe Desert, the English version of a collection of short stories titledOttakam(Camel) by KM Abbas at 4.30pm.

A book on legendary Malayalam writer Vaikom Mohammed Basheer by EM Ashraf will be released at 6pm at the same hall.

Another title from Abbas will be released on the last day of the fair on November 15. TitledKazhcha(Vision), the book is based on his experiences as an expatriate. Titles by many other Malayalam writers based in the UAE will also be released at the fair.
