Touring photo exhibition at Fujairah from tomorrow

FUJAIRAH — A unique touring photographic exhibition titled ‘North South East West’ will open at the Fujairah Academy on March 11.

The exhibition will run in Fujairah until March 13 when it will move to Ras Al Khaimah and then Dubai as part of its tour of the UAE. It will leave for Bahrain on April 6.

The exhibition has already visited Abu Dhabi, where it ran for one week at the Cultural Foundation.

‘North South East West’ was conceived and organised by the British Council and the Climate Group to raise awareness and stimulate debate across the region about the causes of, and problems associated with, climate change and the energy challenges facing the world’s greatest cities, as well as to promote solutions to the general public.Ten of the world’s leading photographers were commissioned from the Magnum Photographic Agency to capture images from diverse countries around the globe, to illustrate not only the impact of climate change, but also the solutions which are being implemented to reduce carbon emissions in communities from the North, South, East, and West corners of the globe.

This has produced some inspiring images, which detail the resourceful ways in which these communities have adapted.
