The first fleet of luxury trolley buses rolled into the 500-acre plot at Downtown Dubai on Wednesday.
The air-conditioned trolley buses, each with a capacity of 25 passengers, were introduced to enhance the ease of access for visitors to Downtown Dubai, especially with the summer months fast approaching.
Downtown Dubai conveniently encompasses what Dubai is best known for, series of ‘world’s bests’, with Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest building; Dubai Mall, the world’s largest shopping and entertainment destination and Dubai Fountain, the world’s tallest performing fountain—marking the area as a must-see tourist spot.
The trolley buses will employ a hop-on-hop-off system where the purchase of one ticket entitles one whole day’s use. The addition of the trolley buses in Downtown Dubai will significantly enhance the ease of accessibility of tourists as well as ease the traffic during peak hours. The high-quality buses, specially designed for Downtown Dubai, highlight our commitment to offer our visitors the opportunity to experience every tourist attraction in the development at their leisurely pace,” Nasser Rafi, Chief Executive Officer of the Emaar Malls Group, said.
The Downtown Dubai Trolley Buses will cover Dubai Mall, The Address Downtown Dubai Hotel, Souk Al Bahar, The Palace – The Old Town hotel, Burj Park, and Burj Khalifa, and will eventually be linked to the Dubai Metro for convenience.
Tickets, priced at Dh20, can be purchased on the bus itself. Children under 12 years of age, accompanied by their parents or guardians, can travel for free. — news@khaleejtimes..com
