ABU DHABI — Two motorists were referred to the Public Prosecution after being caught overspeeding on the Abu Dhabi-Dubai Highway.
The Traffic and Patrol Department of Abu Dhabi Police found them driving at dangerously high speed.
The mobile radar (sniper) of Traffic Police patrols detected the Ferrari and Bentley cars travelling at 250 and 213kmp/h on the Abu Dhabi-Dubai highway, Eng. Colonel Hussein Al Harethi, Director of the Department said.
“The two motorists were driving their cars in a crazy way, unfazed by traffic rules and directional road safety signs. They were driving as if they were racing on an F1 circuit,” he added.
“Traffic Police will have zero tolerance for reckless motorists who put livese of other road users in danger,” he said.
“Unfortunately, few irresponsible motorists flout traffic rules prompting us to deal with their insane conduct,” he added. — james@khaleejtimes.com
