The UAE will celebrate the first day of Eid Al Fitr today, the moon sighting committee announced on Sunday.
Sultan bin Saeed Al Badi, Minister of Justice, who chaired the committee’s meeting in Abu Dhabi, greeted the President, His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, Their Highnesses Members of the Supreme Council and Rulers of the Emirates, and the UAE people on the occasion.
Eid prayers will be held at hundreds of mosques and musallas across the country. Different parts of the country will host special events and celebrations to mark the festive season.
