UAE leaders offered their condolences to President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan over the death of his mother Sheikha Hessa bint Mohammed Al Nahyan.

In a tweet, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, said: "My deep condolences to UAE President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and all the people of the UAE, on our loss of his mother Her Highness Sheikha Hessa bint Mohammed Al Nahyan. May her soul rest in peace."

His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, said in a message: "From God we come and to Him we return. With great sorrow and sadness, we mourn the loss of President's mother Sheikha Hessa bint Mohammed Al Nahyan." He added, "May God bless her soul and grant her Paradise, and grant us all the strength to endure (the loss) and persevere."

Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, said in a tweet: "My deep condolences to President His Highness Shiekh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan for the loss of his mother Sheikha Hessa bint Mohammed Al Nahyan. May God bless her soul."
